EFLA Consulting Engineers is proud to continue participating in the 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly. This year, EFLA will host an in-depth panel session titled "Ensuring Stable and Reliable Operation of Future Sustainable Power Grids," which will take place on Friday, October 18th, at 16:00 in Ríma B at the Harpa Conference Centre in Reykjavík.

Addressing Energy Challenges in the Arctic

The panel session will focus on the future of energy in the Arctic, a region facing unique challenges due to its smaller, often isolated energy systems. These systems must adapt to the increased integration of variable renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. EFLA's session will explore critical questions: Are current technologies sufficient to ensure these systems' stable and reliable operation, or is further research needed to develop tailored solutions? The discussion aims to provide insights into the technological and infrastructural needs required to make Arctic energy systems more resilient.

The panel will also delve into lessons learned from countries that have made significant strides in integrating renewable energy sources. By examining these case studies, the discussion will highlight practical strategies and solutions that could be applied to Arctic conditions, offering valuable takeaways for stakeholders and empowering them with actionable insights.
